
Golem is intended to be "a global and decentralized open source supercomputer that anyone can access," and Golem envisions a decentralized sharing economy of computing power and a flexible, reliable and low-cost resource for developers. Golem relies on an ethereum-based transaction system to enable settlement between providers, requesters and software developers. Its network consists of a combination of user machines (from computers to large data centers) powered by Golem''s network usage for a variety of use cases (from CGI rendering to complex scientific computing). Golem allows users and applications (requesters) to rent cycles of other users'' (providers'') machines. Any user (individual and large data centers) can share resources through the Golem network and get paid by the requester in GNT (Golem Network Token).
