Card Basics
1.1 What is Bitunix Card?
Bitunix Card is a Visa-powered debit card that allows you to spend the crypto assets in your Bitunix account.
When you make a purchase with your Bitunix Card, your crypto assets are automatically converted into fiat currency using the applicable exchange rate at the time of the transaction. The payment is then processed through the Visa network, allowing the merchant to receive payment in their local currency while the equivalent amount is deducted from your Bitunix Card Account.
You can use your Bitunix Card for both online and in-store purchases at millions of Visa-accepting merchants worldwide.
1.2 What's the Difference Between a Virtual Card and a Physical Card?
Bitunix Card is available in two forms:
- Virtual Card
- Physical Card
- A Virtual Card does not have a physical card. It is available for use immediately after issuance and is ideal for online shopping and mobile wallet payments.
- A Physical Card is a tangible payment card that can be used for in-store purchases at POS terminals, including contactless payments.
- Both cards offer the same payment functionality. The primary difference is how and where they are used.
1.3 How Many Cards Can I Apply For?
In general, each Bitunix account may apply for:
- One Virtual Card
- One Physical Card
- Card limits may vary depending on product policies or your country/region. Please refer to the latest platform guidelines.
1.4 Is Bitunix Card a Debit Card or a Credit Card?
Bitunix Card is a Debit Card, not a credit card.
Payments are deducted directly from the available balance in your Bitunix Card Account.
Since Bitunix Card does not provide a credit line or overdraft facility, you can only spend the funds available in your account.
1.5 How Long Is My Card Valid?
Bitunix Card is typically valid for 3 to 5 years.
The expiration date is displayed on your card or within the Card Management page.
Before your card expires, Bitunix will generally provide options to renew or replace your card.

4.6 Can I Link My Card to Other Wallets?
Yes. You may add your card to supported third-party payment wallets such as:
- LINE Pay
- WeChat Pay
- Alipay
- Availability depends on the card BIN and each payment platform's policies.
- Each card can be linked to up to 15 third-party wallets. If you reach the limit, remove an existing wallet before adding a new one.
4.7 Are There Additional Fees When Paying with WeChat Pay or Alipay?
WeChat Pay and Alipay apply their own service fees for international cards (Visa, Mastercard, etc.):
- Transactions ≤ 200 CNY: No fee
- Transactions > 200 CNY: 3% service fee
- These fees are charged by WeChat Pay or Alipay, not by Bitunix.
- For larger purchases, splitting the payment into multiple transactions under 200 CNY may help avoid the 3% fee.
- Please refer to the official WeChat Pay and Alipay websites for the latest transaction limits and fee policies.
- The 3% service fee is charged by Alipay only for eligible transactions made at merchants in Mainland China when using an international card above the applicable threshold. It is not a Bitunix Card fee and generally does not apply to Alipay payments made at supported merchants outside Mainland China.
4.8 Can I Withdraw Cash from an ATM?
Yes. ATM cash withdrawals are available only with the Physical Card at ATMs displaying the Visa logo.
4.9 Where Can I Use My Card?
You can use your Bitunix Card in countries and regions where VISA is supported.
4.10 Why does my transaction sometimes show "Authorization Completed" and other times just "Completed"?
This is normal and depends on how the merchant processes card payments.
- Authorization Completed The merchant has first obtained an authorization to verify your card and reserve the transaction amount. At this stage, the funds are temporarily held but the transaction has not yet been fully settled. Once the merchant submits the final settlement, the status will change to Completed.
- Completed The merchant completed the authorization and settlement in one step. The payment has been fully processed and finalized.
- Different merchants use different payment flows, so you may see either status. Both indicate a successful transaction and do not represent any issue with your card.
5.Funding & Card Balance
5.1 Where Does My Card Balance Come From?
Your card balance is funded from your Bitunix account.
5.2 How Do I Transfer Funds to My Bitunix Card Account?
You can transfer funds internally from your:
- Spot Account
- Futures Account
- Earn Account
- to your Bitunix Card Account using the internal transfer feature.
5.3 Can I Top Up My Card in Other Ways?
No. External bank transfers and direct blockchain deposits to the Card Account are not supported.
If you transfer crypto on-chain, you must first deposit it into your Bitunix account and then transfer it internally to your Bitunix Card Account.
5.4 Are Crypto Assets Automatically Converted to Fiat?
Yes. When you transfer supported crypto assets to your Bitunix Card Account, they are automatically converted into fiat currency using the applicable exchange rate.
5.5 Do I Need to Top Up My Card Before Making a Purchase?
Yes. Before making a payment, please ensure that your Bitunix Card Account has sufficient available balance.
Please note: Your Spot Account and Bitunix Card Account are separate. Even if your Spot Account has sufficient funds, payments will fail unless you transfer funds to your Card Account first.
5.6 Which Cryptocurrencies Are Supported?
Currently, USDT is the only supported cryptocurrency.
Support for additional cryptocurrencies will be introduced in future updates. Please refer to the latest platform announcements.
5.7 Which Currency Is Used for Payments?
Your payment currency is converted automatically.
When you make purchases online or while traveling internationally, your available balance is converted into the merchant's settlement currency (such as EUR or JPY) using the applicable exchange rate at the time of the transaction. The payment is then settled through the Visa network.
5.8 What Happens If I Don't Have Enough Balance?
If your Bitunix Card Account has insufficient funds, your transaction will be declined.
You can check your available balance in the Bitunix App and transfer additional USDT to your Card Account before trying again.
6.Fees
For the complete fee schedule, please refer to: Bitunix Card Usage, Fees, & Limits
6.1 Is There an Issuance Fee?

6.3 Is There a Card Replacement Fee?
Virtual Card: Free

The Physical Card will be available in Phase Two.
6.5 Is There a Card Closure Fee?
No. You can close your card at any time from the Card Management page without any additional charge.
6.6 Is There a Crypto Conversion Fee?
No. There is no crypto conversion fee.
When transferring funds to your Card Account, USDT is converted to USD at a 1:1 ratio.
6.7 What Is the Inactivity Fee?
To keep your card active, an Inactivity Fee of USD 1 per month will apply if no transactions are made for 12 consecutive months after card issuance.
Once you make a new transaction, the inactivity fee will stop and the 12-month inactivity period will reset.
6.8 What Is the Foreign Exchange (FX) Fee?
When you make purchases in a currency other than your card's settlement currency, foreign exchange conversion may apply.
The conversion process generally works as follows:
- Visa Exchange Rate
- Visa converts the transaction amount using the applicable Visa exchange rate.
- FX Markup
- Bitunix applies an additional Foreign Exchange (FX) Markup to certain transactions.
- Final Amount Charged
- The converted amount, including any applicable fees, will be deducted from your Card Account and displayed in your transaction history.
6.9 What Is the FX Markup Rate?
The FX Markup is 1.5% of the transaction amount based on the applicable Visa exchange rate.
It will appear in your transaction history as a Transaction Fee.
6.10 What Is Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)?
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is a service offered by merchants or payment terminals that allows you to pay in your card's billing currency instead of the merchant's local currency.
When paying abroad, you may be offered two options:
- Pay in the merchant's local currency (such as EUR or JPY).
- Pay directly in your card's billing currency (such as USD).
- If you choose the second option, the merchant performs the currency conversion using its own exchange rate.
- Merchant exchange rates often include an additional markup, meaning you may pay more than if the transaction were converted through the Visa network.
6.11 How Can I Avoid DCC?
If you see prompts such as:
- "Pay in USD?"
- "Pay in your home currency?"
- We recommend selecting the merchant's local currency (such as EUR or JPY).
- This allows Visa to perform the currency conversion, which typically provides a more competitive exchange rate.
6.12 What Is the ATM Withdrawal Fee?
ATM withdrawal fees apply to Physical Cards only.
Please refer to Bitunix Card Usage, Fees, & Limits for details.
6.13 What Is the Declined Transaction Fee?
A Declined Transaction Fee is a small processing fee that may be charged if a transaction has already entered the payment authorization process before being declined.
6.14 Why Am I Charged for a Declined Transaction?
When you initiate a payment, the transaction is sent to the payment network for authorization and security screening.
Even if the transaction is ultimately declined, processing costs may still be incurred. In certain cases, a Declined Transaction Fee may be charged to cover payment network and fraud screening costs.
6.15 What is a Transaction Dispute (Chargeback)?
A Transaction Dispute is a request submitted to Bitunix when you believe a card transaction is incorrect or unauthorized.
After reviewing your case, if it meets the applicable Visa dispute rules, Bitunix may initiate a formal Chargeback on your behalf through the Visa network. During this process, the merchant and its acquiring bank will be asked to provide evidence to support the transaction before a final decision is made.
Common reasons for submitting a transaction dispute include:
- Unauthorized transactions (for example, suspected card fraud)
- Goods or services not received
- Goods or services significantly different from what was described
- Duplicate charges
- A merchant failed to process an agreed refund
- Once a dispute is submitted, Bitunix will first review the information you provide. If the case is eligible, it will be processed through Visa's dispute resolution procedure. Depending on the complexity of the case, the investigation may take several weeks and, in some cases, up to 90 days.
- Before submitting a transaction dispute, we strongly recommend contacting the merchant first. Many issues can be resolved directly with the merchant, which is often faster than the formal dispute process.
6.16 What is the Transaction Dispute Fee?
If your dispute is reviewed and determined to be eligible for a formal Chargeback through the Visa dispute process, a Transaction Dispute Fee of USD 50 per case will apply.
This fee helps cover the costs associated with processing the dispute, including:
- Visa card network processing fees
- Issuer and acquirer handling costs
- Manual investigation and case review
- Fraud prevention and dispute administration
- Please note:
- Submitting a transaction dispute request is free.
- The USD 50 Transaction Dispute Fee is only charged if your case proceeds to a formal Chargeback through the Visa dispute process.
- If your case cannot be processed because the required information is incomplete or supporting documents are not provided, Bitunix reserves the right to reject the dispute request.
- Excessive, fraudulent, or abusive use of the dispute process may result in restrictions on your Bitunix Card or other risk control measures.
- If a Transaction Dispute Fee applies, Bitunix will notify you before your case is submitted for formal Chargeback processing.

8. Transaction Issues
8.1 Why Did My Transaction Fail?
Transactions may be declined for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to:
- Insufficient available balance or exceeding your card limits.
- The transaction was identified as potentially high risk by our risk control system.
- The merchant or transaction type does not support your card.
- Authentication failed (for example, 3D Secure verification was not completed).
- Temporary issues with the payment network or the merchant's payment system.
8.2 Will I Be Charged for a Declined Transaction?
Not all declined transactions incur a fee.
A Declined Transaction Fee may only apply if the transaction has already entered the payment authorization process, for example:
- The authorization request has been submitted to the payment network.
- The transaction has triggered fraud or security screening.
- Multiple failed payment attempts are made within a short period of time.
8.3 Why Is the Final Charged Amount Different from the Transaction Amount?
The final amount charged may differ from the original transaction amount for several reasons:
Exchange Rate Fluctuations
For foreign currency transactions, the final amount is calculated using the exchange rate at the time of settlement rather than the rate when the purchase was made.
Pre-authorizations
Some merchants, such as hotels, car rental companies, and gas stations, may place a temporary authorization hold before the final amount is settled.
Merchant Adjustments
Restaurants, hotels, and certain merchants may add tips or additional charges after the initial authorization.
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)
Some overseas merchants may convert the transaction into your card's billing currency using their own exchange rate, which may result in a higher final amount.
8.4 Why Is My Refund Different from the Original Payment Amount?
Refunds are processed as new transactions by the card network.
The refunded amount is converted using the exchange rate applicable on the refund processing date. As exchange rates may change, the refunded amount may differ from the original payment.
Please note:
- Transaction Fees, FX Fees, and Small Transaction Fees are non-refundable.
- If a transaction is fully refunded, any cashback previously awarded will also be reversed.
8.5 Are Partial Refunds Supported?
Yes. Partial refunds are supported.
Cashback will be adjusted proportionally based on the refunded amount.
Transaction Fees, FX Fees, and Small Transaction Fees are not refundable.
8.6 What Is a Pending Transaction?
A Pending Transaction is a transaction that has been authorized but has not yet been fully settled.
During this period, the corresponding amount is temporarily held but has not been officially charged.
Common examples include:
- Hotel authorization deposits
- Car rentals
- Certain online services
- The pending amount is only a temporary hold and does not necessarily represent the final amount that will be charged.
8.7 Why Do I See Multiple Authorizations?
Multiple authorizations are normal in card payments.
Some merchants may authorize your card multiple times while confirming or adjusting the final transaction amount.
Although multiple authorization holds may appear, only one final transaction will normally be settled.
Unused authorization holds are generally released automatically within a few days.
8.8 Why Did My Payment Fail Even Though I Have Enough Balance?
Common reasons include:
- The authorization amount exceeds the purchase amount (for example, hotel deposits or ride-hailing services).
- FX Markup or Small Transaction Fees increased the total amount required.
- The merchant category or transaction type is restricted (such as investments, gambling, or adult content).
- The transaction was blocked by the risk control system due to security concerns.
- The merchant does not accept prepaid cards, virtual cards, or cards issued in certain regions.
- Your transaction exceeded your card's spending limits.
- Temporary issues with the payment network or merchant.
- 3D Secure authentication was not successfully completed.
8.9 Why Doesn't the Merchant Accept My Card?
Possible reasons include:
- The merchant category (MCC) is restricted.
- The merchant does not accept prepaid or virtual cards.
- Geographic or cross-border restrictions apply.
- The merchant's acquiring bank does not support your card type or issuing region.
- The transaction has been blocked by the risk control system.

10.4 What Is a Chargeback?
A Chargeback is a refund process initiated through the card issuer and card network, such as Visa or Mastercard, when you have a dispute with a transaction and cannot resolve it directly with the merchant.

Common reasons include:
- Restricted merchant categories
- Some merchant categories, such as investment services, gambling, or adult content, may be restricted by the card network or issuer.
- Country or regional restrictions
- Transactions in certain countries or regions may not be supported due to compliance or risk control requirements.
- Merchant does not support this card type
- Some merchants may not accept virtual cards, prepaid cards, or certain card types.
- Payment security rules triggered
- Transactions may be blocked by risk control rules, such as frequent attempts, abnormal amounts, or unusual device or location activity.
- Merchant-side issues
- Merchant system failures, payment gateway issues, or BIN restrictions may also cause transactions to fail.
- To protect your account, certain transactions may be automatically blocked by the system as part of normal risk control procedures.
12.2 Which Scenarios Are Prohibited for Cashback?
For prohibited transaction categories for Cashback, please refer to: Introduction to Card Rewards
12.3 How Are Hotel or Car Rental Deposits Handled?
When you check in at a hotel or rent a car, the merchant may place a pre-authorization hold on your card as a deposit.
This amount is not charged immediately, but it will temporarily reduce your available balance.
The merchant will release the pre-authorization after checkout or after the rental is completed. The release time depends on the merchant and payment network processing time.
Pre-authorization holds are normal and do not represent final settled transactions.
12.4 How Are Partial Refunds Handled?
A partial refund means the merchant refunds only part of the original transaction amount.
The refund is initiated by the merchant and returned to your Card Account through the original payment route.
Due to exchange rate fluctuations or fee differences, the refunded amount may differ slightly from the original transaction amount. This is normal.
12.5 When Will I Receive My Refund?
Refunds are usually returned to your account within several business days and may take up to 14 days, depending on the merchant and payment network processing time.
