FAQ:
- Why is the cross-border transaction fee for USD purchases changing?
After reviewing payment processing and cross-border service costs, we are adjusting the fee to support the continued operation of our card services while maintaining existing cashback benefits.
- Why does a cross-border transaction fee apply when I pay in USD?
The transaction currency and whether a payment is classified as cross-border are separate considerations. A payment made in USD may still involve cross-border processing and therefore incur an applicable cross-border transaction fee. This fee is separate from any currency conversion fee.
How much more will I pay?
The fee will increase from 0.5% to 0.9% of the transaction amount, equivalent to an additional USD 0.40 for every USD 100 spent.
For example, the updated cross-border transaction fee for an applicable USD 100 purchase will be USD 0.90. Any other applicable fees will continue to follow the existing fee schedule.
- Will USD purchases still earn cashback?
Yes. Eligible USD purchases will continue to earn cashback based on your VIP tier or applicable promotional terms. Existing cashback rates, monthly caps and excluded merchant categories will remain unchanged.
- Does this adjustment affect any other fees?
This adjustment applies only to the cross-border transaction fee for USD purchases. All other fees and limits remain unchanged.
